     Gup was born in Henderson, NC, and Anne was born in Athens, Ga.  He is the oldest of 3 boys; she is the youngest of 3 girls.  They met in high school, dated for 6 years, and have been married 44 years

(as of June 5).  They have 2 daughters, Claire and Melissa; and 4 grandchildren - 3 granddaughters (Katie, Rebecca, and Sarah) and 1 grandson, Ben.  Gup is retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and now works as a Senior Project Coordinator with A&R Engineering, Inc.  They are members of the Carrollton Presbyterian Church.  Gup is an elder and Anne has taught Sunday School.  Anne volunteers as a reader at an elementary school once a week and Gup finds joy in being a real beard Santa from around Thanksgiving until Christmas.

 

 

     Anne & Gup have been dancing for 29 years; teaching and cueing for 10 years.  They are graduates of the East Coast Cuer College, have 2 round dance clubs (Kennesaw Rounders - a square dance level club, and Diamond Turns - a 4/5 with a few 6's club), and cue for 2 square dance clubs.  They are members of the Atlanta Area Round Dance Teachers Association, DRDC (past chairmen), ICBDA (chairman of the VIDEO committee for 2009), Roundalab and GRDTA. 

 

 

     Anne & Gup support the round dance activity at all levels and hope to see it grow.
